Eagle Scout
___
I served with Troop 284 as a Boy Scout for eight years, transitioning from my earlier days as a Cub Scout.
During this period, I reached the pinnacle of scouting by earning the Eagle Scout rank. This distinction
involved a community-oriented project where I chose to construct two dugouts for the local High School
baseball team. Spanning three years, this undertaking involved 500+ man-hours and fundraising $7,500, all
accomplished during the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. Beyond the award, this experience deepened my
leadership abilities and taught me the intricacies of project completion.
Scouting Today
___
After turning 18, my journey as a scout reached its official end, but my dedication to the Troop persisted.
Now, as an active adult leader, I strive to reciprocate the guidance and support I received. My aim is to
assist budding Scouts in their pursuit of the esteemed Eagle rank and to pass down the valuable lessons I
garnered as a scout to the next generation.
Beyond Scouting
___
Beyond my active involvement in scouting, I've consistently sought opportunities to contribute to my community.
From my freshman year until I turned 18, I served on the Town of Babylon Youth Court. This rehabilitative program
allows young individuals who've made mistakes to be tried by a jury of their peers. As the defense counsel, my role
was to present the case for the defendant before a youth-led tribunal and jury. This experience not only enriched
me with invaluable skills but also paved the way for real-world applications, such as my internship with the DSNY
legal department—mirroring an adult iteration of the Youth Court I was a part of in high school.
